Another Hump Day

Proof that even on cloudy days in Seattle it can still be beautiful...
It doesn't hurt that I'm on the 24th floor downtown :)

Since I was in Cincinnati this past weekend this week I've been off on days and just overall.
I want to thank you all so much for your prayers for my family this past week. It truly means a lot!

So many people came to support my family at my Grandpa's funeral and visitation. It was so great to see all people they were close to and so many of my parent's neighbors and friends and our Agin family showed up to support us as well. Their presence really helped.

I am so glad my hubs was able to come. Sometimes I'm okay and other times I'm not and on our plane rides and long layovers there were times where I wasn't okay and I don't know what I would have done without him.

It was really touching to see how glad my Grandma was that we were there. My family is so welcoming. They wanted Josh to be there because they said he was a grandchild too, which is such a testament to the love I feel when I go over there.
My Heitfeld grandparents had 6 kids, they are all married
and have kids (usually at least 3) and their kids have some kids and we meet for every holiday in their little house.
There is lots of closeness, wrestling, and food but it is so fun to be there and I'm so glad they so willingly allow Josh into this.

We will all really miss my Grandpa but I'm glad his suffering is over and so grateful for the ordinary but meaningful ways he impacted my life.

He had a 21 gun salute, he served the army in Germany, and we all got one of the shells.
I know it is just a thing but keeping that somewhere I can see it I think will give me peace and also just be a reminder of him.

  1. Did he serve the U.S. army in Germany? And during what war? That's really fascinating and that shell would be an interesting item to display!

  2. Yeah for the US Army and during WW11
My Grandma and him took a trip back last year to re-visit all the places he was stationed there.
    He was a cook

I never got sick of that view, such a great way to begin and end each work day :)

i've been praying for you guys, and I hope settling in back home after time in Cincinnati is ok... and don't worry, I'm not trying to steal Katy, she just has to hang out with someone who looks(ish) like you at all times! ;)
