Enrobing Eugene

 

Eugene finally got some lights added. I am a scrooge about over Christmas decorating, but I love Christmas lights. We ran some up our banister that softly twinkle and the first thing I do when I get home at night is plug them in.

 

Our ornament collection is a bit overwhelming for little Eugene but how can you leave any out!

We drank old fashioneds and ate candy and added a little Christmas cheer to the Elrod apartment.

Decorating Dagny

We finally decorated Dagny this past weekend! She was very happy not to be naked anymore. This year we listened to Jamestown Revival on the record player, ordered Pizza Hut, and drank our homemade beer while doing it. 

Halfway through I asked Joshua what we should put on the top this year, we don't have anything officially as a topper, he started giggling and hung Sebastian on top! I love it, he looks totally terrified, so we left the top of the tree long to give him more dramatic effect. I chuckle everytime I see him.

This is an ornament my dad made us, he tied a fly fishing tie and cut it to look like a Christmas tree with ornaments! Isn't that amazing!

Anthony decked in the Christmas spirit

We tried to listen to Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas music but we just aren't Christmas music people, so we danced around the tree to Architecture in Helsinki while putting up our first tree!

We found an angel made of noodles from when I was younger and put it on the top of the tree :) But we're on the lookout for a cool light up star. Also my family plays the pickle ornament game. It used to be a german tradition where you hide a pickle on the tree and the first one to find it gets to open a present before Christmas. Since us 4 kids weren't okay with that we did it 4 days before Christmas so everyone won!!

So hubs and I really want to find a pickle ornament (now glass) and get pickle gifts, maybe we'll have a neighbor hide it!!!

The ornaments are all mine from childhood, my mom buys one every year, so we'll have to start finding some that mean something to both of us. But for now Anthony, our tree, is happily lit and decorated, and stable.
Ooo We also made thin mint Christmas cookies that I'll show in another post. Christmas cookie time- my favorite!!

Little things

A few new things have joined the Elrod household. I finally got my AIR PLANTS! I have been wanting some of these forever. I kill everything and I have decided that this is the solution. Plus I love glass and jars and Josh thinks things should have a purpose and so now I can put my air plants in my glass jars! :) I was a little giddy when I bought them. The cashier laughed at me a little. Josh's mom also laughed at me a little- she liked them too though!
